StarOfService is a global (130+ countries) online marketplace that connects customers with local service professionals across various fields (1000+ services).
In 2019 we faced the significant challenge of maintaining consistency and efficiency across a rapidly growing range of products. With multiple teams working on different aspects of the platform, design inconsistencies began to emerge, leading to a fragmented user experience and prolonged development times.
The goal was to create a unified design system that could streamline the design process, ensure brand consistency, and enhance collaboration between design, development, marketing and HR teams.
Process
Pushing the initiative
As the Design Lead, I pushed the initiative to develop and implement the design system. My responsibilities included defining the overall design vision, auditing existing design components, and collaborating closely with dev teams to ensure the system met their needs.
Leading the development process
I led the design team through the creation of design guidelines and reusable components, driving the project’s strategy and execution to achieve a more cohesive and efficient design process.
